We first started with a website designed to spread information about the great hobby of model railroading that we enjoyed so much. Since then, we have shared hundreds of pages of content and tutorials to help guide model railroad hobbyists to build their dream layouts.
After providing all the information and techniques required, we then felt that we could help our readers even more if we could provide them with a special personalized online shop where they could find and buy all the model railroad supplies that they need, easily, and for reasonable prices. Our Model Railroad Hobby Center is an online store that grew out of the BYMRR informational site that helps you learn all about model railroading. It was authored by experienced model train enthusiasts who wanted to share their knowledge, information, and experience with others in a way that would be easy to read and understand, that would be comprehensive, and that would inspire them to want to build their own train layouts, or to perhaps join a club that was involved in the hobby or to become an established model railroad hobbyist.
Over the years, the cost of building your own model railroad has become admittedly and clearly somewhat expensive. So naturally, we can't afford to spend money on things that don't work. The best we can do is spend our money on the best resources possible.
The number of brick and mortar model railroad hobby stores are dwindling with time. So, we see a greater need to provide you with the supplies online. The problem with buying online is that you cannot actually hold and view the products like you would be able to do in a regular hobby shop. So even though you can see a picture of it, after buying an item, the quality can differ. It is almost like taking a leap of faith. But with our online train store, you can get recommendations from the experts who know the ins-and-outs of every product and then make your purchase decisions accordingly.
