Product Description
Pre-owned, Lionel 2-6-2 locomotive in very good condition, post WWII era, probably 60-70 years old.The 2-6-2 locomotives were built by Balwin in 1885 for the New Zealand Railways. Later they were build for logging railroads. Then Brooks started building them for Chicago, Burlington and Quincy and, it was thought at the time that they would be good for long runs throught the midwestern prairies. So, they were nicknamed "Prairie" Locomotives. However, the Class 1 Railroads didn't really like them for some reason, so they ended up mostly operating on short lines.Â
This is a well-built, solid, heavy, die-cast, powerful model replica.
